Piebald - Python regius

Piebald Royal Python - Python regius

The Piebald is an instantly recognisable mutation and reamins ever popular. Everyone wants to see a Pied and when they do they want one in their collection.  Each Pied is unique with no two being alike.  A simple recessive mutation these royals may have as little as 10% white pigmentation and as much as 90%.  The white is not a 'creamy' white but a true brilliant white. Another characteristic of the Piebald is the ''double stripe'' that appears on the dorsal surface pattern.  Occasionally a few black scales may appear in the white area.  The head is always darkly coloured.  The remaining body pattern is aberrant. The amount of white pigmentation is not inheritable so you can produce high white Pied's from low white adults and vice versa.  The mutation combinations are almost endless.
